Hier geht’s zur deutschen Version

Hello Together,

The old year’s almost over and the new one about to begin…and a lot of us will say “Finally!”

Jepp, it was a year where each and every one of us has our own thoughts and experiences with. “Adaptation and Compromize” I think was one of the most needed skills and some of us found it easier than other and I really hope you belong to the first category of people!

In todays blog I’ll do what a lot of us do this time of year and will just post a short recap of the passed year….

Frank had more jobs and work to do than usual, my online soap business on the other hand wasn’t working out for several reasons, so I’m going to shut it down today. But it definitely wasn’t all for nothing as I’ve learned so much and that’s never a waste of time and knowledge nobody can take away…and I’ll still keep on making soaps 😉

Well and work around the house …. Just never stops 😉

And a forest fire not even 200 m behind our house kept us on our toes and after one of the fire trucks fell through our little bridge we now also gained a couple of skills in building bridges 😉

And as our daily life here in the woods already is kind of a “self isolation” we’re living for the past couple of years…well, doesn’t mean that it’s always easy to live with, but we’ve learned how to deal with it…sometimes in some really crazy ways when cabin fever hits you….meaning you paddle over the ice only to reach open water 😉

But we hit our personal low this year when we had to let our dog Emmy go over the rainbow bridge, after she’d developed cancer. Although it’s been almost 10 month now we’re still having a hard time dealing with it.

We had a lot of dogs, but she was “the one” and we still miss her every day.

Otherwise we just take every day as is, face challenges and try to make the best of what’s thrown at us…living our motto….

Well, I think that’s it for the this time and I’ve really kept this post a short one…but hey, don’t get used to it 😉 …so I think I’ll come to the end…

Some of you might be home alone today, others celebrating in your own small bubble, or some just hanging out in front of the TV going to bed early…as, no matter what…the clock will hit 12 and a new year will just start over again.

Probably things will never get back to what they used to be…but, it’s up to us to make the best of it so things will get better 🙂 !

For 2021 we wish you nothing but health, happiness, luck and people around you that do you well and like you just as you are and will always be there for you!

Deutsche Version

31. Dez. 2020 – Und wieder ist ein Jahr vorbei!!

Hallo Zusammen!

Das alte Jahr ist fast vorueber und ein Neues steht in den Startloechern…und die Meisten von uns werden sagen “Zum Glueck”!

Ja, es war ein Jahr, zu dem jeder von uns so seine ganz eigenen Ansichten und Erfahrungen gemacht hat. “Anpassungsfaehigkeit” war in die verschiedensten Richtungen gefragt und die Einen haben sich schwerer damit getan als die Anderen und wir hoffen, dass Ihr ehr zur ersten “Fraktion” gehoert!

Ich werde heute einfach mal das machen, was viele von uns tun und ganz kurz das vergangene Jahr Revue passieren lassen…

Frank hatte soviel Arbeit wie selten zuvor, mein Onlineseifengeschaeft werde ich zum Ende des Jahres wieder schliessen, denn es hat sich aus verschiedensten Gruenden nicht gelohnt, aber, ich habe viel gelernt und das kann mir niemand nehmen.

An Haus und Hof gab’s auch wie immer reichlich zu tun

und ein Waldbrand im Oktober keine 200m hinter dem Haus hielt uns auch mehr auf Trab als gedacht, als der kleine Feuerwehrloeschzug versuchte ueber unsere Bruecke zu fahren und einbrach….naja, nun wissen wir halt auch noch, wie man ‘ne Bruecke baut 😉

Und da wir ja schon seit Jahren in so einer Art “Selbstisolation” leben, war unser Alltag hier im Wald nicht anders als sonst…was nicht bedeutet, dass es einfacher ist, man hat halt nur gelernt irgendwie damit umzugehen. Wenn auch manchmal auf etwas seltsame Art und Weise, wenn einen dann mal das “Cabin Fieber” gepackt hat….dann paddelt man halt mal eben ueber’s Eis, bis man endlich auf dem See ankommt 😉

Allerdings wurde unsere persoenliche Belastbarkeit dieses Jahr einer besonderen Herausforderung unterworfen und wo wir noch immer mit unserer Trauer zu tun haben…nachdem Emmy ja letztes Jahr an Krebs erkrankt war, mussten wir sie dann doch im Februar schweren Herzens uber die Regenbogenbruecke gehen lassen.

Wir hatten viele Hunde, aber sie war “Der” Hund und sie fehlt uns jeden Tag.

Ansonsten versuchen wir in jedem Tag das Beste zu sehen und die Herausforderungen des Lebens als Chance nehmen, Dinge zu aendern, getreu unserem Motto …

Wie Ihr sehen koennt, hab ich mich wirklich kurz gefasst, aber, gewoehnt Euch nicht daran ;-)…also, komme ich mal langsam zum Ende…

Vielleicht sitzen manche von Euch heute allein zuhause, andere werden im kleinen Kreis feiern, oder, auch einfach nur ein wenig in die Glotze gucken (laeuft “Dinner for One” eigentlich noch?….hier gibt’s das leider nicht  ) und frueh ins Bett….dazu noch ein paar Pfannkuchen…jaja, ich weiss…nur wir Berliner sagen nicht “Berliner” dazu 😉 und ein bisschen “Sprudelwasser” … und…dann geht’s schon wieder von vorn los.

Es wird vielleicht nicht mehr so, wie’s mal frueher war…aber, wenn wir was daraus machen, wird es auch wieder besser 🙂 !!

Fuer 2021 nichts als Gesundheit, Zufriendheit, Glueck und Menschen in Eurem Umfeld, die Euch guttun, Euch moegen, wie Ihr seid und fuer Euch da sind!
